.PRO: New .EU?

25 November 2006 00:44

« .Pro-bably never » This doubtful word game entitled a recent American article about the last of the new gTLDs designed by the ICANN in 2000. Effectively, after a Sunrise Period this summer, a change into the standards - registering directly in .Pro replacing the sub-domains .law.pro, .med.pro and accountant.pro-, and when “live” was announced for December 7th , the extension is a victim of new terms that put in doubt its near arriving into the market. First August, then September and now it would be in February, 2004 the extension should be available. As with the .EU last year, communications and taking back seem to keep on time. Though each time it is carried out that it is a matter of interest for the extension, do independent professions really need such extension waited for them in a long time?; since ccTLDs are opened more and more and new gTLDs could appear in the course of the year?
