Another diva, the .pro, the last of “new” ICANN gTLDs. We were waiting for it like its future competitors who forebodes the application isn’t available for now. But, in spite of all, it finishes the crossing of a new supplementary stage and it opens, in April 5, a period of a defensive pre-application. It is also named “Sunrise period”. According with this, companies have six weeks for registering its mark into .pro. Of course, the companies aren’t “independent professions”- in theory, this category is reserved for .pro- but in the future they could be afraid of a lawyer’s office “Apple” or a doctor “Hewlett” who would have the risk of shading them. The protection has a price : almost 1500 US$ each name to give it protection against the professions group.
