Two important meetings for thinking over before the summer

27 November 2006 13:32

Since the World Governments seem to have had enough difficulties for agreeing in Evian, the "Internet governance" has never attracted so much people like in this month of June! The ICANN will celebrate its quarter meeting in Montreal on the American continent from 22 to 27. Setting aside for the first time the United States to our Quebec’s cousins , the organizers, for sure, wanted to give a first prove of the "global" strategy of the new staff (see our previous editions). Staff which will have to do a lot of work since that, apart from the re-organization established by the new president Paul Twomey, they will discuss, the association that supports ccTLDs (ccNSO) and gTLDs (gNSO) just as the new naming in the management counsel. Toward a wider opening?

Some days later, Paris will be the capital city of Internet, since July, 3 before the Minister Claudie Haigneré’s presence , and so different sharers like Paul Twomey (from ICANN), Georges Papapavlou (from the European Commission) , and Paul Kane (from CENTR). They will come to exchange criterion on governance, extensions, free competition, international dominion names included the .eu. With an impressive list and an expert group with an excellent quality, this day is announced as an excellent "session of recuperation" to our interested readers in the governance and with a less desire about going over the world each quarter!
